49 Seats

Hello!!
My friend and I caught Journey to the West last week!
It is damn funny. It's the retarded kind of funny.
If you think you're damn cool then you'll be like wtf to all the jokes because it's really so stupid BUT funny haha. All the journey to the west shows we watch is about the journey right.
But this is a little different, it's before the journey and how they formed the group.
Quite interesting ley.
Anyway we also wanted to go somewhere with cheap beer to chill drink after the movie , and just nice I've been wanting to go to 49 seats after reading up on all the good reviews about it, and they were having a beer promo, so why not right! The beer promo is all night and one bottle costs $6.90.
We had a bucket of 5 for $30 if I'm not wrong...
The good thing about this place is that it opens till 2am on a weekday!
Not bad right!
We went around 9 plus and it was quite empty. At 10, we were the only 2 people there.
I should have told my friend I booked the restaurant for us lol.

Now the shitty parts.
The food was totally mediocre. In my words; meh.
It tasted like hawker food ley i'm sorry I really don't know what the hype is about.
My friend had the chicken chop and found it very meh too.
I think the chicken chop outside my house is even better.
You get to choose two sides.
We had chilli cheese fries from Carls Jr during the movie so we got mashed potato and pasta salad instead. Both also meh. It's not inedible don't get me wrong, it's just super normal food. Like I can make the pasa salad at home, a nicer version of course, and the mashed potato lacks taste and isn't smooth.
The brown sauce also wasn't fantastic.
So after all these complains... there's an upside. This is only $8.90 haha so yeah.... guess what you pay is really what you get?
Oh we also topped up $4.90 I think? To make it a meal. You get a drink and a soup. Soup of the day was pumpkin soup!! I love pumpkin soup! This was not bad, but ever since I tried Cedele I could never look at other pumpkin soup the same way again.

I had the Seafood Tomyum pasta which was..... zzzz.
What's with the die die must try reviews on all the blogs I read.
After my first mouth I was like.. is this really it.
Haha. And the Seafood must be careful. Only got two prawn and one mussel. But my friend said there were clams shreds inside which weren't noticable to me.
Basically we both agreed that the Nissim tomyum cup noodle scores way better than this creamy plate of pasta. It was really ok only lo. If you're craving for cream pasta please just go to Kith cafe and try the crabmeat linguine in vodka cream sauce. That is the freaking bomb.

I think the ill came up to 60+ but we had 5 bottles of beer so yeah..
They don't do GST and service charge so i guess that's a good thing?
But I honestly wouldn't return again :/
They were

Then we went over to the bar right beside.

It's called Drinks Culture.
I've been wanting to go there because this regular from Butter Factory owns it and I wanted to see how sleazy the place was hahah but it was surprisingly atas.
Anyway!!! 49 Seats and Drinks Culture are owned by the same boss.
BETCHA DIDNT KNOW THAT.
We found out from the very talkative bartender. Haha.
They don't have menus there so basically you tell them what kind of flavour you like and they will make you a drink and if you don't like it THEY DONT CHARGE YOU FOR IT!

So anyway we had their speciality; a strawberry shortcake and a passionfruit martini.
Both were really not bad!
$18 for each cup which I thought was priced super reasonably ( I mean $18 for a cup of drink is damn bloody expensive. but well....it's alcohol). Because they didn't have menus we just ordered then realised fuck, later it's $30 for a cup because the prices of bottled alcohol there were higher than those in clubs.
But hehe. It's quite a nice place to chill really. Quite romantic actually lol.
Went home and had a really good sleep!!
