Staycation: Grand Park Orchard

Hello, this will be a happy post because my weekend was awesome! I am still feeling very loved and I just have to blog about it so I can remember this feelimg forever or reminisce this kind of happiness when I read back on my posts.
This was the Friday I've been looking forward to for a long time!
Super glad it came so quickly, but so sad that it was gone as quickly as it came.
It was a lovely break from a horrifying first week of school. :)
My baby planned a staycation for my belated birthday. ^^

After trying countless of outfits, i finally decided on this!

Checked in at 7pm because i had school before hand and he had work. :x
I was super lucky la I picked up $2 on the floor. Hehe cheap thrill can't remember when was the last time i picked money up. I watched a movie when I was really young that if you pick money up , you're picking up bad luck from the person who dropped it. haha my friend insisted that it may be good luck, but i was still skeptical lol. #superstitious thus he suggested we buy a large fries from Macs, that way we wouldn't keep the $2 if it was really true! Good idea. Never say no to fries!

Headed to the hotel to check in! ( Level 4) Really love how accessible and conveniently located Grand Park is. It is right smack in town, above Abercrombie. We were spoilt for food choices since we are surrounded by so many huge malls! Ion, Taka, Paragon, Wisma.. Woah. The staff at the concierge was sooooooo generous and sweet. Got a super late check out at 3pm because we checked in so late and and we got double upgraded to a club room woohoo!! The deluxe and superior rooms look the same, but the club rooms allow you to access the Crystal Club lounge if I'm not mistaken!

This is the reception area. The swimming pool and bar are located just outside! Omg now that i'm looking at this picture.. are those yellow chairs sun beds!! Wish I had gone for a swim!

The Crystal Club lounge has an evening cocktail from 530-7pm so you can go grab some nibbles there and enjoy free flow alcohol wuhu!! What's better than alcohol is free alcohol right lol.  ( don't pretend, i know we share the same sentiments) We went there only around 8pm just to check it out but the waitress very kindly offered us a glass of white wine for my friend and champagne for me of course!

Love the impeccable service here. Boutique hotels really just don't match up.

Tadah! Here's the room !! Looks very much like Hotel M2 in Bangkok with the same exact see through toilet which I love. Watched a doggie show this morning while having bubble bath after my breakfast buffet. One word; 爽 (SHUANG) Lol.

The pillows are so comfortable. I would totally stay at this hotel if I were a tourist traveling to Singapore. So sad to leave.

A little surprise from the sweety! My 4th box of macarons from him. So love..

Obolo has the best macarons believe me. The rose and sakura flavours are damn freaking good. So happy~~ he is sweeter than all these macarons. :D

We were chilling at the lounge before we headed out for dinner

After our drinks we came down and walked passed their bar which looked super pretty against the night sky, so we decided to have another drink hoho #YOLO
(stole this pic from google)

Asked the bartender for a unique concoction but in the end it was some hazelnut strawberry drink that i've drank a few times at Butter. zzz. And this was $20! But the ambience really made up for it.
Anyway side track, I discovered another food peeve of mine.
I really hate drinks that are clear when they are not supposed to be. Like how can this ice lemon tea looking drink contain hazelnut... it should be creamy!! Drank some banana drink at Bangkok and it was clear i felt so gross after tt. Imagine drinking a milkshake that looks like sprite but with milk shake taste *gags*

By this time, with my alcohol tolerance as weak as a baby's, I was already flushed.
He brought me for dinner at Imperial Treasure Teo Chew Cuisine at the 4th floor of Ngee Ann City.
I love Imperial Treasure and was pleased to try out their extended branch. I've never dined at their Teo Chew restaurant before, and after this visit I will definitely be back with my family!

It was such a healthy, light  and guilt free dinner hehe.
Bamboo clam with garlic was so good. Told u i love anything with garlic! Cod fish was alright but would have preferred for it to have a stronger taste!

Thought we ordered a pork and salted fish congee.. so when we checked with the waitress, she said "this is a teochew restaurant and teochew porridge are all like that" Hahaha I was like " oh yah hor" after she said tt. So embarrassing.

Ordered two soup because my friend is a soup king hehe. We came here especially for the pork stomach soup. OMG. It's really the best pork stomach soup ever. It was damn yummy la. The soup was so flavoursome! Sichuan soup on the other hand was forgettable and paled in comparison.

My friend ordered this for me when I went to the toilet. Hehe. told you he was being damn sweet. I am an extreme sucker for people who order desserts for me without me asking.

My babycake. ^_^ This is us most of the time. Very sticky hor. But I love it. I'm not even a sticky person, but with him, it's different.  Every moment with him is precious. Haha since when do i blog such things right. But I was really happy that day ley :)

Went to Attica and then Butter. 3 bottles of 3litres, so cray.

Damn tired. We forced ourselves to wake up at 9am for the hotel's buffet breakfast.
The spread wasn't huge, but they have the basic croissants, toasts, eggs done any style, salad, fruits, porridge, sausage, hash brow.

My second plate. Just need to have a bit of every thing heehee.
Corn beef was delicious.

Haha, the silly boy constructed and assembled his own egg benedict. Croissant with butter spread + corn beef hash + ham + poached egg + italian dressing from the salad counter haha. The glorious lava egg yolk was real food porn

Sorry to spoil yr appetite after whetting it haha.
This was my bare face at 9am. The alcohol started kicking in when I was eating half way. Strange much. I couldn't eat anymore, I was neon pink, no joke. Even my thighs were red! My heart was racing and head was throbbing. Went back up to sleep!

And check out! :'(
Tbe hotel entrance is right opposite Paragon!  Can totally imagine slothing and going to grab a coffee and cake at Starbucks and a quick take away lunch at Soup Spoon... and go to market place for some grocery shopping with my baby. If only we had more nights there!

Went over to JEM because my baby booked massage for us!
After that we went to look for food!
There's this restaurant by the name of 老火汤 !
The main dishes there are of course the soups, they have other food Tze Char type of food too.
Trying salted veggie duck soup for the first time in my life. It was so good!!  And a bowl of pumpkin rice which i wish was more fragrant. He had the winter melon soup!

So that was my fairytale weekend!
It was such an enchanting one. Like a dream come true.
Please don't wake me up :'(
