Two trees and Bar Bistro // Butter Factory

Hi, being a person with high inertia, when i start blogging, i do it all at once, if not i won't start at all. Haha. So lazy. After much procrastination, I finally decided to wipe off the dust on my laptop and churn out some posts again. 

Last week was fun filled and pretty incredible!! 

Tuesday

Went over to Two Trees and Bar Bistro at 14 Aliwal street  ( just a few streets off Haji Lane) on Tuesday to celebrate Xueting's birthday! She booked the entire cafe and treated us all to dinner! 

The concept of the place is simple and fuss free, food there is also very affordable. Mains are priced slightly over $10. 

I had the beef burger. This was $13.90 if I'm not wrong. Nothing impressive. ( burgers now will taste so average and meh because i recently met the Burger of my life. Omg. There hasn't been a day it didn't cross my mind. Hahahha. will blog about that in another entry!!) Minced beef patty + bacon + cheese sandwiched between two buttered buns, with crisp fries on the side. 

 There was a lot of tendon in the patty which was quite a put off for me. But the patty was super thick as you can see. And it is really not bad for $13.90. 

Le birthday girl~

After dinner most people left, and J and I found ourselves having yet another HTHT session over a jug of beer. ((: I didn't even realise till he mentioned " is this the 30 mins you were talking about?" 

The ends of my lips curled into a smile when I heard that. (: Because I mentioned in my previous post that I think having 30 mins HTHT sessions with your partner once in a while is something that can really strengthen your relationship!! He secretly reads my blog.. this sneeeeeaky boy!! 

He was sharing with me about his business, family,and friends. It was pleasant lending him a listening ear too. Even more so, because the person he chose to put down his guards and confide in, is me. 

I like it when he sees a friend in me you know? 

I have never felt closer to him than now. 

Friday

Met up with Sijia for tea at Prive. Love this place. I just want to sit there all day. 

Finally catching up with her after so long! Miss this girl!!

Damn the carbonara is pretty good here!!

Friday night at Butter was a good kind of fun !! 

Usually I get pretty emotional when I drink too much.. but last Friday was a nice of high. 

It is so important to stop drinking when you already know you cannot take it anymore!!

But I always like to over estimate my tolerance. Lol.

My sister was there too. We are super close every time we club. Haha.

She had a table near the dance floor, so I went to find her, and some guy just kept trying to pull me away from my sister, but my sister just kept hugging me . Hahaha. Super protective. Love her.

I'm blogging like I haven't blogged in 1000 years but it's nice because it keeps me occupied at night. 

J came to pick me up this afternoon and brought me to his office with him!! Keke.

Little Personal Assistant for the day. Kekeke. 

Dapao-ed lunch! I love the YTF here at the Food Republic. It's so shiok. This is my feeble attempt at eating healthily. 

I love DEEP FRIED YTF. It's so shiok omg. And they are then drenched with this minced meat brown sauce which is so yummy. Wurve it ~~~

HAHAHAHAH! After we were almost done with out meal, there were 2 pieces of veg and a fishcake remaining and he said they were all mine. And I told him I could not eat anymore because I was very full. Right after that.......  

THE CHAIR I WAS SITTING ON BROKE!

OMFG. Can I sue Ikea for hurting my self esteem??? ( haha kidding, pls don't sue me back ) I swear it must have been broken before that already or it is really about to spoil, but J said it's because I'm fat :'( So after that i didn't want to eat up the remaining vegs already so sad :'(

We were supposed to go for tea together today too, but didn't manage to due to circumstances. Is this God's sign of telling me to stop eating?!?! I have never broken a chair in my entire life man. It's kinda devastating leh, to be honest, I've never felt more obese than now!! :[

 Watching him do work.. * Fan girl mode on* I think he's the most handsome when he's focused while doing work. 

Yikes...Where got people do work will look at their pinky finger one, so kawaii de...

Met up with Felicia, Emelia and Hanwei for dinner. REUNION WOOHOO!!!

Love them. Had an epic time with them. I laughed till I teared and couldn't stop hitting my thighs cause I couldn't breathe. Omg. We don't even have to try, it's always a good time!! 

We had dinner at Kko Kko Nara! I was eating a chicken wing when I realised I forgot to take pic.

So this was the outcome of eating with my right hand and biting on a chicken wing while half heartedly snapping this pic with my left hand haha. 

And the army stew.. Which I can't even justify the price... for sausage, luncheon meat, veggie, rice cake and maggie mee...

Total bill came up to $80 for these two items we had!! Quite ex ley.

 But I had a fantastic time with them.. it's super funny hanging out with them every time.

It's like recess time again :)

Imperial Treasure Peking Duck // Samy's Curry @ Dempsey

Hello!!

On the eve of labour day, J and I had dinner with a group of friends at Paragon's Imperial Treasure Peking Duck. The duck is really so awesome.. but before I get to that..

Because corkage is free of charge, they brought all these wine during dinner, and yep. WE FINISHED ALL 8 BOTTLES !!

This is bringing drinking to a new high man. 

 Anyway, lucky me was down with a fever and was on antibiotics, so I was excused from excessive drinking. Also because J drank a few glasses on my behalf <3

We had pretty good food. Drunken prawns were really fresh. Pics no edit!!!!

And the peking duck! We had 2 of it.. it was delicious... You gotta pre order a day in advance if you wanna have it though!! DON'T SAY I NEVER SHARE! Later you go there and order on the day itself you won't be able to have it!!

Instead of the usual egg crepe wrap, this was a chinese version of tortilla haha. I love tortilla so I really like this, I ate 3 of it omg. I usually don't allow myself to get a 3rd helping because the 3rd is just plain greediness!! It's so yummy!! And there was so much duck left , so I "offered" my services and "sacrificed" myself to eat it .. HAHAHHA. 

But I really shouldn't have eaten it the 3rd time cos I was starved to the brim in the end. It's like I'm full already but i still want to eat. 

I think greediness is a trait I really despise. It's the lack of self discipline and control that irks me. Like... if you have no self control, how different are you from an animal?  What differentiates human beings and animals is the thin line that we have self control and are logical right? Ok I'm sorry.. I digressed. I don't mean greedy people are animals ok.. I'm just saying I think greediness in general is really very flawed. Food wise, it's very mild. But money, lust, fame.. it is an addiction that snowballs, and gets out of hand. It leads to nowhere but a  downward spiral. 

Lol abrupt jump back to the dishes for the night. We had the 3 egg veggie. I always have this every time I have chinese food outside with my family. It's so nice!! 

My 3rd piece of peking duck i was whining about T_T

 They chop up the remaining duck and fry it with the fried rice. The fried rice when eaten with their signature chilli is just sooo good. I love chilli.

We also had two other plates of cod fish prepared in different ways. 

Overall, got duck, got prawn, got fish la. But I paid $100 for the meal ( or a random dinner )  and to me it's just so ouch. T_T

 We went to Butter after ( needless to say) and my dear boy who shielded me from drinks ended up being not sober at all. So I stayed over and took care of him hehehe. 

Labour Day

We brought Tammy out to play today.She was so well behaved. Josh says it is necessary that we bring her out if not she will start believing that she is human. Lol. My friend also told me dogs always think that they are humans? Lol.. seriously?

On our way there with Josiah ( J's brother ) and his girlfriend, Tessa. Haha. Just look at his intense face. So... intense. He was playing his newly bought digimon toy and battling with his girlfriend. Haha. Sometimes it's really nice to be kids again don't you think?

Mad hair on the car because we scrolled down the windows to let Tammy enjoy the breeze haha but she has hiding most of the time because she is afraid of car rides. She is afraid of so many things!!

We went to AMK park / bishan park because there's a place for dogs to run about and it's fenced up so your dogs won't go missing! There were so many cute dogs there.. makes me want one too.

After which, we went home to clean Tammy up and he managed to psycho his family to have Samy's Curry for dinner because I've been saying I want to eat it for the past two weeks already hehehe. 

I am currently on a hunt for the best briyani. It is awesome!

The papadum here is so yummy i think i had 4 haha. It's free flow!! I love papadum! 

 J and his brothers can't take spiciness at all. It's so epic because they were all like red lips and perspiring already, when it wasn't even spicy AT ALL to me. We had so much to eat. 

The fried fish was really good. I thought the briyani rice wash meh though. It could have been more flavourful. I think the rice is free flow too ley lol. Can really eat until you vomit here. 

Had a really satisfying meal with great company :)

Labour day was really simple and sweet. I think I'm really getting old because I appreciate gatherings and doing simple things so much more than a crazy night out and ending drunk.

I'm really old now. 

I'm only 22.. is it too young to feel this way?

Praradise Dynasty @ ION

Hello. 

Finally met up with Emelia, Hanwei and Felicia for dinner!!

We had our dinner at Paradise Dynasty. It's my FAVOURITE chinese restaurant!!! The food there has never disappointed me, every dish is so delicious and affordable! 

Yang Zhou Chao Fan. ( Fried Rice ) + Pan fried pork dumpling

Gong bao ji ding ( spicy diced chicken) . Love the cashew nuts which added an extra crunch to the dish. 

Guess I don't have to introduce this.. I think they have the best xlb among the other chinese restaurant chains. The skin is paper thin *_*

Hot and sour la mian with bamboo shoots, tofu and pork. 

Deep fried turnip roll 

Red bean pancake. 

We prefer those at swerehoon or other chinese restaurants with roti-prata like skin and thick red bean fillings. This pancake was more like a flaky pastry and the red bean wasn't very smooth either. Probably the only dish I wouldn't order again. It was nice, but we had better ones! 

Really enjoyed my dinner and company for the night. :) They say friendships that have survived the 5 year mark will last forever, Really? The four of us have known each other for a decade already!! From talking about lame things during recess to catching up over dinners now, time flies. 

IJ friends are friends for life!!! 

Before dinner, I helped Emelia out for a shoot for her online store. 

This was my second time shooting for her, haha. I'm truly very flattered that she thinks I make the cut.
I was really awkward for the first shoot and my normal days make up totally could not survive under the harsh lighting, I look really bad lol. And she was going for the cool style so I wasn't allowed to smile haha. ( super happy I could smile for the 2nd one lol ) I look like someone owes me $5000. To see how awkward I did for my first shoothop over to her store!!!

These are photos from the first shoot for her basics collection hahhaha. Never imagined myself to be doing this. 

She has really nice stuff, and pretty necklaces!!! This Zara inspired necklace ^ is only selling for $22.90! It is retailing at Zara at $129 originally and $89 after sales.
