Imperial Treasure Peking Duck // Samy's Curry @ Dempsey

Hello!!

On the eve of labour day, J and I had dinner with a group of friends at Paragon's Imperial Treasure Peking Duck. The duck is really so awesome.. but before I get to that..

Because corkage is free of charge, they brought all these wine during dinner, and yep. WE FINISHED ALL 8 BOTTLES !!

This is bringing drinking to a new high man. 

 Anyway, lucky me was down with a fever and was on antibiotics, so I was excused from excessive drinking. Also because J drank a few glasses on my behalf <3

We had pretty good food. Drunken prawns were really fresh. Pics no edit!!!!

And the peking duck! We had 2 of it.. it was delicious... You gotta pre order a day in advance if you wanna have it though!! DON'T SAY I NEVER SHARE! Later you go there and order on the day itself you won't be able to have it!!

Instead of the usual egg crepe wrap, this was a chinese version of tortilla haha. I love tortilla so I really like this, I ate 3 of it omg. I usually don't allow myself to get a 3rd helping because the 3rd is just plain greediness!! It's so yummy!! And there was so much duck left , so I "offered" my services and "sacrificed" myself to eat it .. HAHAHHA. 

But I really shouldn't have eaten it the 3rd time cos I was starved to the brim in the end. It's like I'm full already but i still want to eat. 

I think greediness is a trait I really despise. It's the lack of self discipline and control that irks me. Like... if you have no self control, how different are you from an animal?  What differentiates human beings and animals is the thin line that we have self control and are logical right? Ok I'm sorry.. I digressed. I don't mean greedy people are animals ok.. I'm just saying I think greediness in general is really very flawed. Food wise, it's very mild. But money, lust, fame.. it is an addiction that snowballs, and gets out of hand. It leads to nowhere but a  downward spiral. 

Lol abrupt jump back to the dishes for the night. We had the 3 egg veggie. I always have this every time I have chinese food outside with my family. It's so nice!!

 They chop up the remaining duck and fry it with the fried rice. The fried rice when eaten with their signature chilli is just sooo good. I love chilli.

We also had two other plates of cod fish prepared in different ways. 

Overall, got duck, got prawn, got fish la. But I paid $100 for the meal ( or a random dinner )  and to me it's just so ouch. T_T

 We went to Butter after ( needless to say) and my dear boy who shielded me from drinks ended up being not sober at all. So I stayed over and took care of him hehehe. 

Labour Day

We brought Tammy out to play today.She was so well behaved. Josh says it is necessary that we bring her out if not she will start believing that she is human. Lol. My friend also told me dogs always think that they are humans? Lol.. seriously?

On our way there with Josiah ( J's brother ) and his girlfriend, Tessa. Haha. Just look at his intense face. So... intense. He was playing his newly bought digimon toy and battling with his girlfriend. Haha. Sometimes it's really nice to be kids again don't you think?

Mad hair on the car because we scrolled down the windows to let Tammy enjoy the breeze haha but she has hiding most of the time because she is afraid of car rides. She is afraid of so many things!!

We went to AMK park / bishan park because there's a place for dogs to run about and it's fenced up so your dogs won't go missing! There were so many cute dogs there.. makes me want one too.

After which, we went home to clean Tammy up and he managed to psycho his family to have Samy's Curry for dinner because I've been saying I want to eat it for the past two weeks already hehehe. 

I am currently on a hunt for the best briyani. It is awesome!

The papadum here is so yummy i think i had 4 haha. It's free flow!! I love papadum! 

 J and his brothers can't take spiciness at all. It's so epic because they were all like red lips and perspiring already, when it wasn't even spicy AT ALL to me. We had so much to eat. 

The fried fish was really good. I thought the briyani rice wash meh though. It could have been more flavourful. I think the rice is free flow too ley lol. Can really eat until you vomit here. 

Had a really satisfying meal with great company :)

Labour day was really simple and sweet. I think I'm really getting old because I appreciate gatherings and doing simple things so much more than a crazy night out and ending drunk.

I'm really old now. 

I'm only 22.. is it too young to feel this way?

CMPB Demsey #2

Went over to Le' nest on Sunday. 

I was wearing a mesh top and it accidentally matched my sleeping shorts haha. So I just had to act cute abit . #noapologiesforselfies hahahah just kidding. Haven't used photo booth in a long time

Anyway if you noticed... I don't ever wear clothes with sleeves. So when I met J that day he said " I thought you don't wear clothes with sleeves one?" HAHAHA. He's so cute right. Like he notices all these things about me . Even if I told him before it's so cute that he remembers.because like i said.. his memory is so bad, too bad, very bad !!

On Tuesday we went to CMPB. 

I was a little reluctant at first because I had school at 815am the next day and didn't really want to go out till too late. But I was going for dinner with 2 of my good friends and J !!! It was like a meet-the-friends session haha. They've hung out before obviously but it was always about drinking.. It was nice that we could all hang out together ... This is actually my first time having dinner with someone i adore and my friends lol so I really appreciate the effort from both sides. 

Anyway we went to cmpb again because J and I have been craving for the parma ham cream mussels ( so gooood!!! )  and I really wanted to intro it to Hanwei and Emelia. Hanwei had the squid ink mariana, while Emelia had the sausage aglio olio. Both were good but not fantastic la, and the squid ink jst tasted like normal pasta to me. We also ordered the truffle fries ( must order! )  and onion rings to share and a bottle of white wine!!  Wah felt a bit like my birthday. Lovely dinner with lovely company.

Went to play mahjong after that till 3am and I lost like $50 pfftt >_<
and zombied my way to school. :X

CMPB Dempsey.

Hello! I really love reading my old blog posts la. I love to reminisce. This was Frolick days. I was such a joker lo. Sijia says I'm the friend with the most reactions hahahha. I am only expressive in front of people i love ok. 

 Shen mian my mama cooked for dinner. So comforting to return home to home cooked food.

Met my friend for dinner last night because he is going on a fishing trip during the weekends sobsobsob. :'( . We only met at 9pm, and we didn't want to have a rushed dinner. So we wanted to go to Crystal Jade at Holland V . But when we were at Holland V he suddenly suggested Dempsey keke. I immediately said we can go to CMPB! ( Contemporary melting pot and bar ) I've been wanting to go for a long time already! My friends have been raving about this place and I also read pretty good reviews on it, so CMPB it was! Since they close at 1am anyway.

It's located at the block just beside Ben & Jerry's!

When we went in, my friend was like wth they have every kind of food .. you know how restaurants that serve everything usually mess up because they are not specialised in anything? That was the vibe we got.. But boy were we wrong! It turned out to be an absolutely satisfying dinning experience. Damn shiok ok I just kept wondering why I didn't come to this place earlier. It is amazeballs !!

We ordered the mussels with parma ham cream . ( $26 i think ) This was the highlight. It was served with toasted baguette, and when dipped into the cream sauce it was fantastic bombastic please. The portions of mussels were sooo generous. I think there were more than 20 mussels!! I will say forget Brussel Sprouts and just come here! Really damn good! I secretly wanted to eat the CMPB burger one hahahahha but once i ate it ... i knew we made the right choice! I love this place!! There was also live band that night, and on live band nights they give out complimentary soups! ( Hahaha... our luck with free food is freaking good love it. To be honest, our luck together is really pretty damn good. The first time we gambled together, the both of us got ban luck ok. I am smiling to myself as I'm typing this lol my prof will definitely know i'm doing other shit in class wahaha.) We got to try the tom yum chicken soup which was damn nice also !! but we were alr stuffed to the brim then!

We also ordered a thin crust pizza to share. You can have it done the half and half way, meaning you get to choose 2 flavours in one pizza! This was $26 too! My friend especially love the pepperoni pizza but i thought the wagyu beef + mushrooms was damn nice too! ( This is my first time eating wagyu beef :/ HAHAHA! Hey don't judge. i told u i dont like meat right. ) The wagyu beef was damn generous although a little too sweet. The beef was not fatty at all, which I like. 

Went to Sauce Bar after! They recently had a mini revamp.. and you know what!!

ONE BUCKET OF ASAHI IS NO LONGER $25 damn it.

It's $35 now so sad :( Haha. 

They also don't have the wine 1 for 1 promo after midnight anymore.

SO SAD. 

Haha anyway.. omg I am damn happy today ok. I went to sleep v sweetly and woke up very sweetly too. Heh. I think positivity really works. I am like in love all over again. 

Love is really not just a feeling. It is work between two people. As long as one person stops putting in effort, the other would shut off too so that they wouldn't be so affected when their affection is not reciprocated. Similarly, if you are nice to me, i'll be even nicer to you!! A woman is really the reflection of her man lo I feel. Yesterday was the first time we really talked about us instead of hiding our true feelings or brushing our shoulders.. Every thing was just completely honest.  I almost feel like I can trust him 100 % now . I am really overjoyed that he opened his heart to me and is willing to stay with me and try for me despite the reasons we can't be together...  his love is all i want and need. Going to miss him so much for the next 3 days sob sob.
